Press Release 25-Jul-2005:
Big Launch Party
for The Algarve Fish Book:
Long awaited by the English-speaking resident community,
Nico Böer and Andrea Siebert of EditionMARISOL launched
the English edition of their award-winning Algarve Fish
Book last Tuesday, the 19th of July, in the presence of
more than 60 invited guests. The event was held in the
old oil mill (Lagar) of Horta do Félix, in the
beautiful surroundings of Detlef von Rosen´s plant
nursery Viveiros Monterosa, in Moncarapacho.
The Swedish-German
journalist Barbara Fellgiebel
hosted the launch and introduced the book and the authors.
A multinational audience of interested readers, residents,
journalists, chefs and local entrepreneurs joined in the
party, among them Mr. Marcelino Franco of the village
council of Moncarapacho and Mr. Jorge Rosmaninho of the
Lisbon branch of the Spanish chain of bookstores, SGEL,
in charge of the Portuguese airport bookshops. Speeches
were held by Elizabeth Beaupied (A Lura dos Livros Bookshop,
Tavira), José Manuel do Carmo (Centro de Ciências
Vivas, Tavira) and Christina von Rosen (on behalf of her
brother as the owner of the place), followed by a magnificent
cold buffet prepared by Nikki Stavenhagen and Monika Wildenburg
of BURG+HAGEN Catering.
After three different
kinds of
filled crêpe rolls served as a starter, guests indulged
in coconut-crusted giant prawns, weever sashimi and shrimp
balls speared on lemongrass, accompanied by a tropical
fish cobbler especially created for the event. Cheese
crostini, parmesan cheese with rock salad and a Greek
kebab with figs and feta cheese rounded up the culinary
side of the party, while the authors were busy signing
copies of their book and answering every possible question.

newly launched edition started
